with all of the commotion
and whatnot taking place
surrounding the possibilty
of major internet sites being
blocked in an effort to keep
pirating from happening,
proc records encourages
it's artists to become
even more networked
than before, and to embrace
originality through open-source
experimentation.
such is the way
of our culture
to simply steal
thoughts and ideas
from other people and
build upon them,
that very few so-called
artists, (specifically
those who are heard on
the radio)
are doing anything
original or worthwhile.
however, once again, proc
proves the point the neccessity
for a counter-culture
movement to exist through
an internet medium.
having access to accepting,
open minded individuals
such as Mr. Nick Newland is truly
a treasure and one that should
be embraced and carefully
maintained.

Nick is the newest member to
the proc-rec family, and while
his impact on the music
scene has been quite noticable
elsewhere
(...seppuku+ and DATAMOSHPIT...)
we have only recently had
the pleasure of experiencing
his musical awesomeness
firsthand just recently.
An amazing debut
album, JEM is all over
the genre-map, finding solice
in various forms of ambience,
and atmospheric
techno, and even
bits of harsh
power-noise electronica,
all of which have a very
chilling and calculated
detachment about them
that leave the listener
feeling left on the outside
looking into the mind
of Nick, which could
very well be a pandora's box
in and of itself.

what I found most
interesting about
this release was it's
old-school sound, which
reminded me very much
of the early days of orbital
in some aspects.
this of course is merely
my own opinion and intended
to be a compliment
held in the highest regards.
(Output 28 is what
really gave this effect
on me).
this is truly a wonderful
little album
and can be played in a variety
of circumstances, the best
of which require
full attentiveness and a good
pair of headphones, although
I've also found it to
be adequate as
a background-music
album as well.

regardless of HOW you listen
to it, just make sure you do.

the first of hopefully many
more to come at proc
from him...

General Mike.
The name says it all.
He IS the man in
charge of the Army of 2600,
but his expertise in
sound assimilation extends
to the outermost
reaches of the sound
galaxy.

Well known under a variety
of other pseudonyms,
Mike Bourque is the
mastermind behind
AO2600, and his passion
for music can be heard
in an extensive catalog
of impressive
music all over
the netlabel multi-verse.
Armed with outdated
technology, Mike
single-handedly proves
what can be accomplished
through sheer simplicity.

On this latest installment
of his at proc, we can hear
ourselved being sucked into
yet another remarkable
performance.
To the best of my reckolection,
this is our second live-recording
set from Mike, the one prior
was under his Xenocats alias
from back in 2008

weighing in at just over
half an hour, this well-recorded
show is an excellent
representation of his various styles
all becoming amalgamated

being very genre-expansive,
Mike shows that his skills
with sound can cover everything
from the harshest electronic
drone textures, to distorted 8-bit
(or lower?) breakbeats.

proc has been blessed
to have a vast selection
of work from mike's
career as an artist, and I
always keep a slot
open for his latest
release whenever I get
the chance.
I thoroughly enjoy
hosting releases that consist
of live-performances, and
it should be quite apparent
why Mike is easily one
of the most respect-deserving
artists within the underground.

like every other great label,
there is usually always a core
grouping of artists which defines
or represents what the
direction of the label is
all about.
It's values, it's musical
direction, but most importantly,
what it seeks to define itself as.
Too often we forget who
and what we are.
We lose our identity
in an effort to fit in with those
around us or whom we admire,
and in the end, our quality
of life suffers purely because
of our desire to change into
something we think is better.
proc, on the other hand,
doesn't dwell on preconceptions
or false admiration from others.
We don't rely upon trendy
scene hipsters to download
our music onto the smartphones
their parents bought them and
then pretend to know what they're
talking about.

From his initial release
with proc way back in...2008(?),
RedSK has been on the top
of the list of people who
truly embody everything
that proc stands for.
He bleeds his art, distorted sine
wave's flowing through his blood
stream as he progressively
moves the noise scene further
down the path of finely-tuned
dedication amongst a
plethora of weekend-warrior
screamo bullshit.

This new album, while an
excellent representation
of who and what Patrick Doyle
is, is still only a vague
glimpse of why he does
what he does, and an even more
vague experience into
the whole mindset of what
a noise ARTIST is all about.
If, after listening
to this album you still don't understand...
guess what? fuck you,
because you never will.

having been blessed

with aural pleasure
with the installment

Joss Manley release!!

Taking experiemental
to an different level entirely,
the man behind Joss Manley
(who also uses the alias
of Josstintimberlake)
shows the underground
scene once again
what experimental
music is all about, embracing
old technology and fusing
it with modern ideas.
Concepts which still
are not entirely up-to-date
themselves, Joss Manley's
latest musical
excursions also hold
within themselves the
fundamentals of what
it means to be
a proc artist.
Never conforming
to what some
would consider
the "norm", these
long-form electronic
glitch pieces are like
brain teasers that
entice your mind to think
outside of any logical
process.

unpredictable rhythm, strange
bursts of distorted melody,
lo-fidelity samples mixed
with Joss's own unique style
of simply throwing
sounds into a blender and
watching what happens
are what you
can expect to hear on this
album, and it's albums
like this that got me into
starting a netlabel in
the first place.

It might take
a few listens.
I dont expect
you to just
sit down and try to
digest everything
taking place in this
album all at once.
It just simply
wasn't designed
for that.
Instead, approach
this beast casually.
Give it the respect
it deserves
by devoting your
full attention.
But whatever you do,
whoever you are,
and wherever you
may be at,
please, just
remember that

be praising the efforts
made by all, especially
those to whom have
dedicated their lives
to progressing the lobit
movement forward.
and it is with great pleasure
that I present
to you all
the latest installment
of sound from the
french-based
lobit artist, Pollux.
Easily accomplishing
what so many
have attempted, Pollux
demonstrates his skills
not only as a musician, but
as a seasoned
lobitrate user, effictively
using the lo-fidelity
qualities of sound
and filling the minds of
hundreds of listeners with
true, un-filtered brilliance.
As is typical with
this man's
style, this
album follows
in Pollux's
deeply-rooted
love affair
with ambient music and
leads us
down a path of
love and understanding.
During a time
in our lives
when so much
of what
we see and
hear going on
around us;
destruction, famine,
hatred, greed, etc, it helps
to know that there
is art that we can turn

emotions properly.

From the very first
moment you hear
the opening track, you

a change in your mood.
casting aside all
pre-conceptions about
ambient or lobit
sound-structure, one
can easily see the intense
love and appreciation
for music that Pollux has.
emptying himself completely,

on his sleeve, he shows
us that no matter
what the government may
do to it's citizens, they
can never stop music, nor
can they ever silence the
underground netlabel scene.

embrace the DIY scene

2011 was a very
challenging year
for many people,
including myself.
there has been
much uncertainty
as many people
have faced job
loss, extreme poverty,
homelessness, among
other things.
and in the midst of
all of this crazyness,
there have been
few things to
hang onto and believe
in.

On August 25th 2007,
proc's message of
un-censored creativity
became a reality.
Artists from any corner
of the world now
had a platform
to turn to when
all others turned
a blind-eye
to those who wished
to convey a particular
though through sound.

Since then, proc has
had 8 major
compilations, each of
which has existed upon
the 50th release cycle
within the catalog.
And each time a new
compilation has been
released, I always look
back to that day
when all I had was
an empty inbox, waiting
for my very first
demo submission.
proc is everyone.
proc is every sound.
proc is the rhythm
and pulse of an
entire underground
movement filled with
people who have their
own lives and challenges.
people who's music
is something
much, much more
than just a hobby.
But, proc would be
NOTHING without
these people.
Each compilation has
been an amalgamted
effort.
Like a patchwork-quilt
of sound, each person
has taken their own
personal spin on
an idea and generously
given proc the exclusive
offer of releasing
it!

Before I end these
notes, I would like to
say thank you to Kai,
Arnaud, Lucas, Mathias,
Ale X, Sascha, Eugene,
Mikhail, jjoth,
pedro and Lee

all things experimental
and harsh.
With a discography
that is as impressive
in sound and style
as it is in sheer
size, RedSK defines
what it means to be
a DIY musician.
Doing
his artform
live to
help pay the
bills, his
label of TFR
(an umbrella
abbreviation
which covers
his net-label
aspect as well)
survives
and perpetuates
itself through generous
donations and support
from other
artists through
the purchasing
and trading
of other
physical releases.
"Often immitated,
never duplicated"
is the only way
to express this
man's work.

This album
shows Patrick in
fine form,
as is typical
from him.
just under one-hour
and ten minutes,
we find ourselves
buried deep within
the belly of the beast,
music which shatter
all pre-conceptions
about noise, regardless
of the listener.

As with all
noise releases,
i encourage
the listeners
to be prepared
to embrace
the un-expected.
RedSK is always
taking shit to a whole
new level, but for
someone who is
no seasoned listener,
the perfection of it
all may be too much
to handle at once.

to, take this
and play it in small

Bottom line,

of generating

melodic textures, he

ear-pounding noise

The end result
is something
truly pleasurable indeed.
Twelve tracks, which

and remixed

for many years, I have

see his talent

underground IDM
producer of our time.

and time again, shown
his passion for music

unseen or unheard of
by not only myself, but

global community

the underground
of his existance

of deeply
rivetting basslines,
warbly melodic
tones, un-structured
rhythm and all
around jovial-themed
tracks.

Opening the EP
with tracks like
"Leg of Lamb" and
"Empty Bottle", he
easily maintains
momentum
throughout
the entire
album, abruptly
changing
time signitures
at a moments notice,
employing guerilla-tactics
of musical suprise
with each and
every track
he makes.
Moreover, his
direct and focused
attention
to detail makes
these pieces

enjoyable as we

album multiple times,

actually WANT
to play it
multiple times,
discovering other
new and exciting
elements which

Lee Rosevere was
one of the first
people whom

with Shaun Phelps
over 3 years ago,
I was immediately
drawn to the
sheer potential
he showed,
using his sounds
as a means

signaling the only
logical progression
in music, he
grabbed the scene
by the yam-bags
and tugged
on it until
he achieved
the results
he wanted.
I'm sorry, that last
sentence didn't
really make a whole lot
of sense, but then
again, nothing
really has to.

However, let it be
known that
once Mr. Phelps
almagamated his
skill for sound
creation with the
sheer brilliance of his
other musical
cohorts known as
Cowboys Vs Robot,
the outcome was
that of ultimate perfection.
Appropriately titled,
"A Beginning" takes
us on a journey
deep into
the extreme.
Random samples
pulsate from
your speakers,
layered with echo
and any other
effect imaginable
(I'm sure), instrumentation
from CvR supports
the progression
of the piece.

Unlike alot of
other releases
of this type,
this jam session is
cut to a perfect
length, which
allows it to be
easily digested in
one sitting, and
has a remarkable
replay value to boot.
its noisy, but
not noise.
electronic, though certainly
not electronica.
droning enough to
be always interesting
and counter-culture
enough to be "cool",
but not skinny jeans,
hair tossing,
buy-your-music-from-best buy cool.
you know?

I'm sorry, this was a terrible
review for such a great album.
But I hope
it at least conveyed
the message that I was
hoping to.
Flat Affect has always
had a special place
in my heart, and CvR
(I hope that's a
proper abbreviation
for you guys!) has
definitely left a lasting
impression on me!!!

I'm not really a person who
likes alot of sweet or sugary foods.
In fact, the few pieces of candy that I eat
are usually just small pieces and
rarely ever anything big like pieces
of cake or candy bars, etc.
However, this new release from
the globally funkalicious sound
producer, Toxic Chicken, is a sweet
piece of head candy that I could
easily sink my teeth into again
and again.....and again, and have!!

Making his music on a computer
which is soon to die from a
fire ant infestation, I have encouraged
TC to push his machine to it's limits
and to create something which
could satisfy the underground, even
people on audio-diets!!

from begining to end, this album
has all of the right elements for
a strong, gripping album.
perfect harmony and pitch, reverb galor
and that ever so sweet percussion
that sends a chill down your spine
every time.

There isn't one track which stands
out among the rest on this album,
although if i were to pick a favorite,
it would undoubtedly be
today the world ends but im still here.
It is this track which, I feel,
defines the album and encompasses
everything which I mentioned above
about what makes an album good!!

the internet has been
a wonderful and useful
tool for "shrinking" the size
of the planet.
now, artists can connect
in just a few moment
to share ideas and communicate,
something which would
have taken weeks or sometimes
even months in the past!
well, with just a little luck, two
very prominent artists in the
netlabel scene, and
even more specificaly here
at proc, the ambient
duo of the harsh "voodoo child"
Dairyola and the always
fantastic Pollux have
teamed up to provide proc
with an exceptionally
brilliant split ep!!!

The album stats off with
three strong ambient tracks,
which carry the listener on a soft
pillow of cloud to the most
remote area's of your mind.
Slow moving, yet fully eventful,
Pollux's tried and true style
of ambient has been an asset
to his style of sound.
But, don't get too comfortable,
because the album soon takes on
a completely different direction
with Dairyola's brutal ear-thrashing
track, SSDD.
A solid shape-shifting
noise/drone piece which uses
spurratic blasts of randomness
to bring an end to any and all silence.

In many ways (or at least
on this album) Dairyola could
be called the Yang to Pollux's Yin.
Both artists are amazingly
unique and skilled, and bringing them
both together on this split
was a truly wonderful idea!

it's lifespan!!)
this brief release, encoded

is insanely bass-heavy and
demonstrates the capabilites
of lower-bitrate music, a
style often shunned by those
involved with "bitrate snobbery".

this isn't a dancefloor track
(although it IS danceable)..
it's not an experimental track

One such thing was his persistant
usage of one particular phrase:
In the business world, there
are three things that people want, but
of these three, only two can happen.
Free, Perfect, and Now.
This never made much sense to me
as a youngster, but as I got
older and began to have
a job, I noticed how relavent it
actually was.
Say, for example, you were out
of money but needed a car so
you could get to your job.
You can have that car, but do
you want it free and perfect?
or would you rather have
it for free and now?
maybe you would prefer
now and perfect?
It's a difficult thing
to wrap your mind around sometimes,
and indeed I've often countered
this argument to him by saying
"I'll take perfect and free, and
with the money I've saved from
the "Free" part, I'll pay to have it
now".
This never really seemed
to be quite a correct
response, and he has tried often
to prove me wrong, but
hey...what do I know?

Anyway, with proc, you dont need
to make such distinctions.
You can have all three at once!
Free, perfect, AND now!!!

Which brings me into the brand
spankin' new release by mr. culver!
Again, we sense his familiar,
fondly-remembered dimensions of
electronic generated audio, forming
an ep which contains three gorgeous

one-man project behind

about this artist:
he's been involved with
the underground music

or another for over
5 years, originally releasing
under his alias of Jesus Seashell
although now utilizing his alias
of ghoul skool with
much more frequency.

Along with a handful of
releases at various
netlabels, he also manages
to operate his own

which has ammassed
an impressive catalog
of audio already in
it's short lifespan!

this album, a very influential
and mind-enhancing noise ep
weighs in at just under 4 megs
and has a runtime of nealy
seven and a half minutes, making
it easily digestable and
immediately enjoyable,
regardless of what the case may be.

opening with brutality
and chaos, the album shifts
gears ever so slightly by
using much more white noise
and apocolyptic rhythm segments
which punctuate any and all
moments of silence with
explosions of expressive beats.
top it all off with nice
guitar riff elements and you've
got yourself a nice little track :D
the third piece uses
more live-percussion sounds
for it's backbone, demonstrating
impressive technique
and live performance.

closing the ep is the
fourth (and my personal favorite)
track, a droney and rather
trippy elemental track,
with delayed vocal samples
peppered throughout,
a constant congo-like drum
and heavy synthesis
for good measure.

this is an impressive little
download, and a definite
engrosing and refreshing release,
filled with the noise elements
to satisfy the underground,
while completely
defining what it means
to be a proc-rec artist!

ghoul skool has
proven himself to be
a worthy ally in the
fight against shitty
music, and I for one
condone his musical skills.
should the time come
when you decide to listen
to what good experimental
music sounds like, give
this album a play or two and
you'll come to realize why
there is no other place than the
underground for my musical

for the past few months, proc

a talented young man
whose skill in
various artforms has transformed
him into quite a force

skilled in visual arts, as

images, talented
with word-structure,
as it can be read from
the poetic stylings
on his website, and
brilliant with audio
generating, clearly heard
in ever moment of sound
on his latest release
with proc, Apparitions in the Sulfer Seas.

briefly said, this album is
true, genuine drone and is done
in such a style that really does
baffle the mind.
Long, but never boring.
Loud, but never harsh.
Alot of clashing sounds, yet simple
enough to concentrate
on the essence of the piece.
indeed, both tracks are
assembled in this way, and
even more so than his past
work with proc.
While his catalog of music
is rather extensive, his proc
releases are quickly becoming
a pleasant regular occurance,
and I'm sure he will soon become
a household name by
those who cherish good
undergound audio.

I also don't particularly
like to pick "favorites", although
this is quite possibly one of the best
albums from Consistency Nature
that i've ever laid my ears on!

doing things a little differently this time,
proc moves into the realm of visual/audio
releases with some fresh (to us) video
footage of fantastic pollux material.

originally sent as one massive
folder of video's, pollux and I agreed
that due to size and amount it was
wiser to release them as smaller "ep"'s
to both keep download size down and
hopefully to generate a sort
of interest through the use of volumizing.

explaining the visual aspect of things is a bit
difficult for me, therefore i wont
spend too much time describing
the video's themselves, though it is
quite apparent that pollux is equally
as talented with video-creation as he
is with sound generating!
the visuals corrilate the music properly
and give a distinct feel to the sound.

as with most pollux music, these tracks are
very chilled -out in style and have a very proper
use of percussion with melody.
his music never gets dull and neither
do the video's, due largely in part
to his wise choice of footage.

all in all, this is a fantastic little album and
a great idea.
Once again, pollux makes
new things possible here at proc and
shows what can be accomplished with
just a simple computer and some software.

the time has come to
pause the experimentalism

direct from Germany, Sascha
takes control of his audio equipment

this album, while very heavily techno
influenced still manages to find
itself in a form of experimentalism.
Hardcore 4/4 beats provide an easy
dance-base while the strange yet
equally amazing synths and
basslines which fill in the rest
of the pieces are nice
representations of how diverse
techno can really be.

Sascha's albums always revolve around
a common theme and this one is quite
different from the other things he has
released with proc in the past.
It is very danceable and can
get people moving,
yet it also has alot of
characteristics for live performance
and basic elements for song progression.

Don't be mistaken, Mr. Müller
will always bring strong sounds
to the table for people to enjoy, and
has never disappointed me.

Actually, that doesnt even begin
to touch the surface of what Robotic Joe
has samples from.
His library of audio clips is so extensive, in fact,
that he has to back up everything he uses onto
double-digit gigabyte external hard-drives!.
Not only is it smart to back things
up elsewhere (as my recent experience
with a virus has taught me), it is also a requirement
for my good friend.

I am quite fortunate to have
a new album from
Joe, not to mention having
two total releases from
him in digital format, along
with a limited-run cassette tape release
that i made for him as an official
proc-rec release!
A man with such talent as his deserves
much more attention, both local
and national, and it is my hope
that he will achieve such things
with his music on proc.
But joe hasnt JUST released on proc!
he also has an impressive volume of music
at the other toledo netlabel, the glorious
Splatterfunk ran by the amazing Richard Naugle!!

This album is essentially a massive
collection of Robotic Joe material, previously
un-released (to my knowledge) and
covers his broad tastes and styles.
No specific BPM's or structure in mind, Joe makes
his music in much the same way a
noise-music artist would.
by throwing away any conventional
framework for making a "song", he
just sits down to his computer, rolls up
his sleeves and grabs a handful of samples
to bend to his will.
Now, to all of the people
who make the claim that Prefuse73 is
the best sampler and vocal-slicer,
let me simply point you in
the direction of Robotic Joe so that you
can experience what a true sample-based
mastermind is!!

certain things in life just bring joy to
my heart.
the first is un-conditional love.
the second is seing people who are happy.
the third is a cold beer on a warm day.

who care.

impressionism was a form of visual art often
used by french painters in the
1870's and 1880's.
by using subtle brushstrokes and
effective color usage, they were
albe to create powerful works
of art out of very simple methods.
in much the same way as the artists
of that time used simple methods for
attaining success, artists like
razxca and vziel both create sound
that is closely related to impressionism,
following audio formats.

originally, the basic framework for this
album was generated by Vziel, a
recent addition to the proc rec family.
after building upon this work and others,
Mikhail (aka Razxca) finally finished
with this wonderful, albeit brief ep.
while actually a remix album, this ep
stands on it's own quite well, without needing
to explain about the previous with much detail.
(although the other albums are listed in the
other text file which came with
this release as well!! please check them out!!!)

razxca and vziel are both
very intelligent minds, and it's easy
to see and hear how they are both
able to supply alot of idea's back and forth
to one another and generate
complexingly simple, artistic and above all,
unique sounds such as these.

Adam Sigmund, hailing from the USA, first

(wow, has it honestly been that long?)

Since then, he has released the occasional ep

This new ep has been a long time coming,

every album tells a story.
whether it's the first song you made
love to, or an EP that you played
on repeat while cramming for a test
the night before, music is eternally
tied to our emotions and can provoke
even the strongest emotions or memories
pretty easily.
Regardless of the reasons or
situations, music, either heard by
the maker himself or played continuously
by a fan of the track(s), everyone
has a story to tell with sound, and
this particular album has a pretty
funny story, albeit a frustrating one
at times.

Daniel Wymark, the musical mastermind
behind the Ploof alias had sent me
this album a few months ago.
I had played it through a few times and
was impressed by it's experimental
nature, thus, i made the motion to
have it released on my label, no questions asked! :D
however, it soon became deleted
accidently by certain people, unable to
extract from the compression at other times,
misplaced in a mess of folders
at another and then finally, completely wiped
out by a computer virus that left me scraping
to find a way to simply get proc back online
in a timely fashion.

yes, this fantastic album has had quite a digital
journey, but now, here it rests.
comfortably within the catalog listing
of proc-rec .

the album itself is quite an interesting
venture through underground
experimentalism. using alot of
distorted, bent, broken, and all
around manipulated vocal samples, Ploof
loosens the bonds of conventional music
creation.
In many ways, this album reminds me of
one of my favorite albums of all
time, plastikman's "closer" release, where
he heavily utilizes vocal layers
in about the same way.
this is a well-rounded album, with
a hodge-podge of varied musical
styles which include deep minimalism, IDM,
ambient and drone.

you might not attach any sort
of meaning to this album at all, although
i sincerely hope you will.
this is a fantastic example of someone
using their minds to the possibilites of whatever.
not being content with the normal
or worried about what others may think
of the end result.
a true proc release in every sense of the word.

to proc-rec, 6pyt brings us another
unique differential and genuine spin
on experimental music with his
latest mini-release, Happy Rodger!

using some low-key underground
vst's 6pyt damages the netlabel scene
with sheer brutality, demonstrating
superb skill in sound-randomization.
the opening piece is more of an 8-bit
ambient piece, chaotic in nature though
still quite slow and very appropriate
for an opening piece.
the second piece is much more intense and
brutal, laying waste to everything in it's path
with it's bass-heavy drums, sharp snares
and relentless bombardment
of crushed 8-bit percussion.

though it is a fairly brief album, just under
5 minutes in length, it is a powerful
moment in musical history on proc.
true artistry is experienced within the context
of this ep, allowing
us to fully realize the idea
that we are not confined to certain
rules or regulations with art.
we are able to release
whatever we want, however
we want!!!
this is the power of music, of art, and
of the underground netlabel scene
found here at proc and at other fine
netlabels worldwide.
grab this album and make it part

having been blessed with some free time,
i decided to go looking through
the archives of recently submitted music
to proc and release something :D
the first thing that came to mind was an
album by yet another artist who hasn't
shown his face in a while, Shaun Phelps aka
Flat Affect!!!

having been a contender on the electronic
music scene, holding such
titles as "Grand Poobah of glitched noise and
international drone-champion" Flat Affects
music has touched many listeners lo the
past decade or so.
featured on a variety of labels, some of which
include (though certainly
are not limited to)...
Okkuluth, Smell the stench, snip snip,
Splatterfuck, sharpie and his own SP netlabel
(thats alot of "S" netlabels, btw)
he also is showcased on proc-rec's
sublabel, 4m@, a handful of times and
has even had a brief stint with proc
on some of our compilations and splits.
to call him "busy" is a severe understatement.

on this particular album we find
him in fine form, making music his slave
and bending the audio to do
his bidding!!!!
Gorgeous noise and drone tracks, all of which
(except for a remixed one) have an
approximate runtime of 10+/- minutes or so,
and feature remixes from such artists like
Buddhist on Fire!!!

A highly experimental album in
every regard, Shaun takes us into
the deepest recesses
of genuine noise landscapes, using very simple
tools but achieving maximum
effect (again, through almost saint-like simplicity).
Unfortunately, words cannot do this album
any justice whatsoever, and I am therefore left
to ask the listener to completely devote
your attention to every moment
of this album, not simply playing it
in your car speaker or in the background
at your home, until you have
completely seasoned yourself to the full
potential of what this album has to offer.

thus, should you find yourself searching
for one of the albums thats helps make
proc so great (i hate to brag, but it's the truth),
then BAM....here you go!

every label, big or small, has at least
one artist which fully identifies
with the label's general interests.
a certain individual or group project
which takes it upon themselves
to perfectly exemplify what the label
hopes to achieve.
Lucas Messier, aka VWT/Cryovolcano
has been an active lowbit cat on the
netlabel scene, releasing his wonderful
albums at places which coincide with
his ideals and values which he holds true.

On his newest release, which
proc was fortunate
enough to obtain when another
label seemed to show little interest, Lucas
(The Museum Of Vengeful Gods), fully
embraces the harsh noise genre
by brutally refusing to follow
any sort of structure, rhyme or reason.
Letting his emotions run rampid through
the use of heavy distortion, he
gracefully captures a prime moment
in underground noise.

Now, noise is a tricky genre to do well.
Yet, I consider it to be one of the
most influential movements in musical
composition since jazz, a style which
in my opinion are very strongly
related.
the most important thing that noise
needs to maintain productivity
and interest is modulation.
without it, the piece is nothing!
So many artists forget such a crucial
thing as this, yet Lucas is more than willing
to do throughout his tracks.

Lucas has a variety of aliases, almost all
of which thrive on lowbit, and use ogg
as their shell.
He is internationally known and
globally respected, and with his presence
on proc over the past few years, he has
quite honestly propelled us into a much
higher echelon of netlabel.
always staying underground, never compromising
our morals. this is what proc is about.
and ARTists like Lucas are what keeps me going.

voyaging once again, deeply within the
trenches of the underground,
consistency nature breaks forth
and opens our minds to yet another
shining example of what it means
to release music on proc.

I truly feel terrible.
time these days has been
quite short, and as a result I've have
to burn the candle at both ends on
many occasions.
as a result, the output at proc has suffered,
and it just so happens to be at a time
when the music has been
exceptionally strong and meaningful,
heavy-laden with passion and sentiment.
CN's newest release is at the epicentre of
such feelings of expression.

"Landscape" could be a proper eponym for
the general feel and
guise of this album, though it certainly
is much more than that.
expressing his deepest emotions
within the context of ambient audio,
CN places us right into the center of a
newly constructed musical universe, building
up new sounds while slowly deteriorating
old ones, generating a completely
new album as the piece progresses.
The album is (in my opinion)
two seperate entities.
Upon reaching
the 25 minute mark,
it slowly changes
into a more experimental
piece, using more
noise-influenced aspects
such as droning textures of
melody and distorted bursts of
white-noise.

It certainly won't be for everyone, your
parents or girlfriend (for example), but
for those of us out there who are
lucky enough to appreciate and enjoy fine
work like this, we have one final
Christmas present to open and
enjoy again and again!!!!!

give it the attention it deserves, put
on those headphones!!!!

operating under for the past decade+ .
I say this because as I sit
here, just home from work, drinking a beer
and trying to unwind from yet another
day devoted to earning a
paycheck as opposed to brushing
up on my musical skills, I try
to wrap my mind around the sheer skill
and expertise he applies to
each moment of music being emmited from
my speakers.
What I mean to say is that, while indeed
there is much time, thought, effort and
joy put into his material, the speed at which
he can produce utterly jaw-dropping
tracks, albeit unfinished, it astonishing
to say the least.

This album is a testament to
Andy's superb and superior
skill in production form.
Always perfecting his sound to
accomodate his particular mood, his
styles have a tendency to jump around
from luciously minimal to insanely
programmed, using his love for
IDM and electronic music in general
as a substantial base for his production.

various points during this album.
Solid stages of glitched white-noise
provide a base of sound, while he
uses the other forms of music to fill in

nearly since 2008, and during these
years he has continued to please
our audience with a wide-scope and
broad mind for music.

moving back into the experimental
aspect, our next release is from our newest
member of the proc-rec family, 6pyt.
hailing from (you guessed it), Russia,
this artist makes a very lasting first impression
with his dark and disturbing
debut release.

Not much is known about 6pyt.
I'm informed he creates a wide variety
of music, which includes but is not limited to
chiptune, N and M (noise and melody),
harsh experimental , among others.
His list of other releases is still unknown to me,
although rest assured that once I find out, I will
DEFINITELY be downloading everything he
has created!!!

This album is an eight-track
work of art.
The music builds up quickly and finishes
just as fast, using elements of briefly
exploding white noise, insane percussion
segments, very intelligent melody parts
and even a few powerful basslines
(track five, max, is a perfect
representation of these musical
elements combined in one piece!)

At proc, I strive to make certain
that I am only releasing the most
highly experimental music available.
Sometimes, however, the music finds ME first,
and it makes my task alot easier!
6pyt is a simply amazing artist
and, not to brag, but I can't imagine
this album being released anywhere else.
It is pure proc-rec material.

shifting our focus a little bit
from the experimental
and noise aspects of music, the
pure and genuine styles of
the infamous Pollux is a refreshing
release indeed!

Much like the previous release, proc414,
this album is also a co-work
venture, featuring pollux
with two very distinctive musical
personalities.
the first part is with an artist
known as Deftrax, who has released
on such labels like Industrial Noise Records,
& Night Terror Recordings.
When joined with Pollux, his sound
produces a much harsher aspect of
sound, while Pollux takes his very ambient
and landscape approach
to make an interesting combination
of sound.
in essence, it's two sides of the same coin.

The other person featured on this
release is a lady known
only to me as The Green Kobold.
From my understanding, she is a French
poet and vocalist.
Her soft-spoken words and
warm, comforting voice add a certain
level of comfort and food for the soul, while
once again Pollux is able to provide
some really nice and calming mellow beats
to layer over the voice, creating a
very nice trip-hop piece.

the two remaining tracks are Pollux as his solo
project, wth an ambient interlude selection as
the second track of this album, and
the final piece being a remarkable rendition of
a personal favorite track of
mine from Aphex twin, rhubarb.

Pollux has been remarkably active with
music the past few months, and both
proc and 4m@ have been truly blessed
lately with his presence in the
underground sound community.
as a person who truly appreciates music, this
album is....how should I say....a crucial chapter
in the Pollux musical library.
On it, we truly hear his fondness for ambient,
his appreciation for hardcore electronica, his
dedication to the scene and his overall love of
sound.

this is a great album to help
re-center your universe, and demands
full attentiveness when being played.

yes, ladies and gentlemen, AO2600
has returned to proc-rec with yet another
musical ally, I Make Babies Cry.
Mike's fervent efforts to incorporate
new talent to the proc family
has proved effective on every
attempt, and this new addition is no different.

while AO2600's basic sound
elements are readily apparent
throughout the album, IMBC demonstrates
some truly epic sound creation/manipulation
of their own.
adding elements of harsh noise and
various other effects like distortion, delay,
phaser(?) among others, the two
projects form like Voltron and
mix their material together tet a tet ,
without drowing each other out with
their respective parts.
all in all, this is a remarkably well rounded album,
easily digestable in one sitting, but
by no means requiring one listen to be effective.
this is the sort of album to take with you
on your portable media device
(though please, not an iPod. Brittany Spears uses one...),
wherever life may take you.
The Chilling chords in "fireworld" are sure
to add ample mood to any situation ;)

Now, being a pacifist of sorts, I hate fighting.
Unless, of course it is fighting for something I truly
believe in, music being towards the
top of the list.
Mike delivers progress and perfection
with each and every album, regardless
of where his sounds may be heard
(though we prefer them at proc as often as possible!).
Once again choosing his
comrads wisely, AO2600 and IMBC
have certainly caught my attention.
make no mistake, proc is here to stay, and
we have just fired our weapons of mass audio.
prepare yourself if you can!!!

the cold winter months are still
quite prevalent here in the USA, especially
here in Toledo, Ohio, (proc's homebase)
where we have been hit fairly hard
with snow and very very
far below freezing temperatures.
fortunately for the people who like quality
experimental music, proc has just recently
obtained some new material from a
guy known only as Dairyola.

Hailing from Maryland, USA, Dairyola's refreshing
experimental style of noise-production is a
tribute to what can be accomplished
through utter simplicity.
Each of the albums four tracks contain the same
basic elements, and build with
relatively the same basic principle.
minimalistic modulation and
frequency/reso adjustments are what
propel these movements of audio into
the proper direction.

The album as a whole is a highly spacious and
dark journey through some compellingly complex
landscapes, and can be heard more directly on
the second track, which brings
to the table a whole plethora of various effects,
(among other things), but essentially
sums up the entire thoughts of all
by diversifying itself constantly through
it's simple yet effective changes.

all in all, this is a great introduction album
to those of you who may not have been familiar
with this artist before, including myself!
it has certainly left a lasting impression on me,
and due to it's high replay-value, I've had
the pleasure of listening deeply to this album
on multiple occasions.

if you're on the lookout for
an album with complete rhythm abandonment,
then look no further!

kicking off the new year, we
introduce the debut release
(on proc) from one of
toledo, ohio's very own soundboy's,
Robotic Joe!!!!!

Since I first met joe in person over
a year or so ago, I had admired his
production styles.
With a seemingly endless library of
hodge-podge samples, Joey
cuts, chops, slices and dices his
brief moments of audio into something
else entirely.
What might have been a 3 second
sample of a child singing while picking
flowers next to a stream, joe could
easily turn into a 12 minute sample
of a zombie eating a child next to a
nuclear powerplant during World War 3!
I know, that's a bit of a strange example,
but then again, nothing about
Joe's music is completely sane itself.

this particular album is, without a doubt,
his most experimental establishment
thus far .
By abandoning any sort of structure or
consistent rhythm, the tracks
soon become an amalgamation of
destroyed samples, hard drillin' bass
and un-duplicatable synth melodies.

As I mentioned before, this
is Robotic Joe's
very first solo release
on proc-records.
while having been showcased
on a handful
of our compilations, Joe has also
released an impressive
catalog of equally fresh
and intelligent audio
on proc's sister-label, the glorious Splatterfunk
which is ran by Richard Naugle, aka
Splfk.

This album requires an un-precedented
amount of attention and should not just
simply be played in the background
while you do other things, unless
of course you dont mind a little
chaos in your tasks :D
But, however you choose to listen

his sound, taking his style

That's right, ladies and gentlemen, Carfil, aka
Thomas Meier, has returned to proc
with his latest release of epic melody,
perfect percussion, and
ritualistic minimalistic expertise.

Donning the alias of Steuker, Thomas
uses similar proceedures of past albums
in an effort to generate something new and
exciting.
With what seems to be like much crisper and
sharper rhythm sequences, he advances
his tracks in such a way that both
melody and percussion coincide to create
sound with a soul, not merely pieces
of audio which are like
ghosts...empty, half-hearted
beats that do nothing but make noise.
The careful consideration that went
into not only composing these pieces,
but into desiging and conceptualizing this album
is apparent throughout it's runtime.
The tracks move from one to another with
seemless ingenuity, moving as a well-oiled machine.

This is a very exciting album, with many new
ideas and thoughts bearing fruit.
Thomas has been with proc for a very long time,

His sound has always been dominant in my mind, and I

although quite young in age, proc
has amassed an
impressive encyclopedia
of audio, in addition
to establishing itself as one
of the critical components
to the alternative electronic
underground music scene.
embracing the intense
counter-culteral movement,
in many aspects, via the
stylings of noise proc
has time and again demonstrated
the importance of disseminating
crucial releases ,much like this one,
to the masses, completely
free of cost to the listener.

having been a fan of noise for many
years, and more importantly the ambient
and drone aspects of it, I am pleased
to finally release this album
after many in-depth listening sessions.
A heavy focus upon destructive layers of
deep non-rhythm, re-enforced with
raucous melodic fragments are what
propel these remixed pieces of bliss into
something much more heartfelt and
down to earth.

I am, however, a bit picky
when it comes to noise-album remixes.
I look for things that
go beyond someone simply
jacking up the volume to some insane
level, adding nothing but
solid walls of white noise, time-stretching
the original track and slapping
some crazy title in parentheses
at the end of the track name.
Unfortunately, this is a
common occurance at proc as I'm sure
it is at other fine and reputable netlabels
worldwide.
We handpick our submissions carefully to
make sure our listeners are satisfied
with what they hear :D

BOF's remix is a full-bodied trip into a world
found on "the other side of the coin",
musically speaking.
deep ambiance is felt at every moment
of the piece, while faint drones are heard
of in the distance, providing a very un-settling
and industrial sound.

the second track, re-done by an artist known as
Norss starts out in very much the same
way as the track prior, although it soon becomes
a much more brutal
and direct noise tune as
it's relatively calming nature trades places
with high pitched line of
pulsating static.
while I have unfortunately not had
the pleasure of hearing the original
recordings, if it is anything as good as this
album is (which is probably a safe bet!),
then I could certainly see myself
sinking my teeth into it quite
frequently.

As always, with noise, it certainly will not appeal
to everyone, although due to the relatively
mild and exceedingly professional nature of
these remixes, it should cater to the specific
requirements which we all place on our musical
experiences from time to time.

Do NOT pass this one up!

I had been having a few issues

proc400 is soon upon us and

the dedication from the artists
to this underground sound movement
has been uncanny and i truly appreciate

Today, America celebrates it's independance.
yep, it's July 4th here in the USA, and
while everyone here is drinking beer and
blowing stuff up, I'm celebrating
independance in a slightly different way
(but the beer is still included! haha)

Independance is something we should
value greatly here in the underground.
Due to the vast capability of the internet,
talented people from all corners of the planet
have been able to come together
and share their crazy sounds without
having to deal with corporate mega-sound
agencies who force-feed the brainless
mASSes with generic, run-of-the-mill
garbage day after day.

One such agent in the war on terrible music
is toxic chicken, who has single-handedly
done astonishing and very positive things
for the underground sound-movement.
Taking the proc250 compilation
and remixing it into a danceable
techno album is such a genuine
idea, it could have only come from
Kai (toxic chicken).
It's people like him who make my job
of running a reputable netlabel
so refreshing and fun.
showcasing artists like Mr.Dee, Microbit Project,
VWT, Pollux, Endometrium cuntplow, and
Flat affect, this one-track 80kbps
mix set is pure genious wrapped
up in a zip file!!!

I would like to give a huge thank you
to everyone down here in the underground

the past two years or so have seen
a large amount of albums from Sascha Müller,
most of which have been DJ-appropriate
in almost any occasion and have been a
total of two, sometimes three (the third
track was usually a remix) tracks
which revolved around a particular theme.
More often than not, this theme was packing
a dancefloor full of people and
watching their bodies move to the voluptuous
kicks, snares, and high hats.

Sascha's music always delivers
premium quality sound, and with
proc-rec, that is precisely what I hope to
achieve.

The album opens with a track that
takes a little while to build up completely,
although the final product is well worth the wait
simply because he transforms a simple techno
beat into something much more profound
and meaningful.
layering sharp-edged crispy basslines and
even sharper lead synths over the beat, he
moves the track in the proper direction.

The first track ends abruptly and
moves us right into the second piece, which
takes off very quickly and maintaines the
speed and level throughout.
Black is my personal favorite track on
the album, and is also one of the best tracks ive
witnessed from Sascha in a long time.
It seems to go back to the roots
of the early days of DJ techno and what better
person to do that than Sascha Müller!!!!

as always, this release is a must-have from
proc AND sascha
(the man who needs no introduction whatsoever!!!)

It is hard to believe how long it has
been since proc has had an album from
Toxic Chicken, although I am now
pleased to announce the first of 3 total albums

Toxic Chicken is none other than Kai Nobuko, a man
who I admire tremendously for not only the
music he makes, but also for the way he lives
life. Never worried about how he will survive
with each passing day, he is certainly a testament
and great example of how to approach life...
always have an open mind, an open heart, and make
electronic music as often as you
possibly can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This album follows the same type of
theme as much of his other work.
great, straight-forward dancefloor
tunes perfect for rocking out and getting
hot girls to rock out with you!!!! (:
Toxic Chicken takes techno to a
completely new and entirely
friendly level by putting an always happy
spin to his work.
Comprised of eight total tracks, none of which
go beyond 2:37, Kai gets right down
to business by starting out with strong, funky
and fun tracks and finishing
in the very same way.
And even with his higher-than-average
bitrate encoding
of 256kbps (he is usually found writing
tracks at a much, much lower bitrate), these
tracks still manage to sound very
old school, analog, and full of that lovely
low-fidelity sound!!

what more can I say?
it's just great music, man!
It would be a shame for you to miss out
on such a wonderful album at such
a wonderful price.

even at the very begining stages of
proc's life, it has been a label where
many artists have jump-started their musical
career on (and off) the netlabel scene.
Artists like Qygen, Spacecraft, The Gemini Lounge Orchestra,
Micron, (and countless others), are just a few
examples of artists who
have decided to go underground
and release on a global
platform, demonstrating their unique
sounds and talents through
a method which promotes creativity
simply by restricting...restrictiveness!
This next release is from just such a fella.
Using his alias of bUScITRA , Adrian McCann
(who hails from the US) has for the first
time entered the underground music scene
by allowing proc to release his debut album.

While quite brief in runtime, this album
packs a definite wallop of
hardcore dancefloor sound.
Adrian follows a similar theme throughout
the entire length of this album by
extensively using glitched and spliced
vocal patterns, layering simple, yet effective,
drum sequences very thick over them, then
peppers in some nice little melodic textures
into the mix, simply for good measure.

This is some truly unique work, however, and
much like with any other form of sound, it may not
appeal to everyone.
For example, things such as the slightly provocative
track titles, heavy usage of glitched vocality

may have a tendency to make a few people

However, I have made it a personal goal
of mine to make sure that only the most
original music gets released on proc, and, only
by people who are willing to push the limits
of their own minds and skills and experiment
with an art-form which has such an
incredable diversity, not only from
coast to coast or from country to country,
but by person to person and album to album as well.

As Adrian's skills as an artist continue
to develop and evolve, I will be paying close
attention to his latest material, wherever
it may be that he chooses to release it.

Microbit Project is precisely the reason
I am overjoyed with writing this note.

While proc-rec doesnt necessarily
focus on one particular aspect of
electronic music, I tend to be
more profoundly interested in releasing
dark ambient, noise, drone, and
heavily experimental audio, as opposed to
strictly dance music.
This latest EP is definitely the type of
sound I appreciate most (:
Microbit Project has a very extensive
career on the underground music scene.
He operates a very busy blogspot which
showcases all of the latest and most up-to-date
low bitrate music news, while also
operating multiple netlabels and
making music under
his various aliases...trulya busy man!!
and a talented man, as well!!!!!

While I thoroughly enjoy all of his music,
this album might become my personal
favorite of his entire work, simply because it
is so minimal, dark, mysterious and
very, very experimental.
Taking the listener on a vast journey
into the unknown, Evgenij has created a
landscape of deep sound which encompasses
your entire thought process and bombards
it with continuous simplicity.

This is an album which I have listened
to on multiple
occasions before I finally
decided to release
it and with each time
of new listening, I find
something new about it
that I enjoy!!
and even with the low bitrate encoding, the
track still is remarkably clear and perfect.

my time this evening is pretty short,
although i felt the desire to once
again hit the web and release
some fantastic new music from
an artist that proc-rec hasn't
heard from in a very long time,
Strawberry Milkshake Inc,
although for this
album he has chosen his
new alias of Cock 7 as a way
to move away from his older
material and enter a new
realm of sound production (:

While I dont really know a whole
lot about this particular
artist, I do know a few
crucial things like... he's from
the great country of Russia... and I
really enjoy his music!!

This album is a 4-track ep of
some seriously hard-hitters geared
up, primed and ready to go!
the tracks are very beat-oriented,
with a heavy emphasis on
extremely crunchy distortion and
rhythmic intuitiveness.
all 4 tracks are encoded to 320
kbps and are all in mp3 encoding.

It's easy to see
that Russia truly has a strong
grip on the electronic music scene
by providing the underground
with artists like this.
This album is durable little package
of some exquisitely hardcore tracks
and doesnt take up much space
at all on an mp3 player.
If you're a DJ who's planning
on playing some really deep tracks
to get the party jumping, be sure
to bring this along and watch the crowd
go wild!!

the music of today, or at
least the underground
music, seems to follow a
very similar theme
of disorder, chaos, ruthless
self-denial and of course,
the amalgamation
of those feelings into
an all-encompasing
thought process.
Noise has especially become
a rapidly growing form
of expression through audio
over the past 5 years, and
certainly quite noticeably
over the course
of maybe even the
past two or three.
I'm not one to brag, but
I am very proud
with the success which proc
has had, especially
within the underground
noise community.
It has been a goal of mine
to keep the label at
the forefront of the noise
scene, becoming
a terminous or focal point
for creative output
and un-restricted
musical expression.
having artists like Pushing Task,
also commonly found
using his alias of jnmerd,
on the label
makes my lovely chore
of listening and releasing
great music that much easier.

his extra-unique hybrid of noise
ambient and minimal are quite
refreshing to find and hear on
a regular basis.
such things are what propels
the noise genre into a whole
new form of creative expression.
I have said on multiple occasions,
and I fully believe it to be a fact,
there are such things as GOOD and
BAD noise.
Good noise can be found through
modulation, experimentation, attention
to detail, various effect usage, and, forming
the foundation for the genre is an
un-wavering love for the sound and
true dedication and commitment
to making progress
wherever possible.
Thus, artists like Pushing Task
can easily be weeded
out of the seemingly endless
amount of low-quality
noisesters who only want to
mess around with junk and
be as loud as possible.
Another crucial element to
creating a noise album of substance
is making sure of it's replay value.
If it is only downloaded one time and played
one time...what's the point???
Such things are not so
with PT, and certainly not with
this ep.

I have played this album multiple
times during various times
of the day while doing various tasks
and have found it to be effective when
reading, resting, or just
wanting to have something comforting
playing in the background.
regardless of why you would want
to download this album, please
make sure you do.
I would hate for you to miss it...

on the whole, the music world is
constantly changing.
Sometimes for the
worse, but more often than
not, for the better.
my personal musical life has
taken a slight directional
change due to a side-project
which I was recently a part of.
However, things will work out
(after all, they always do).

Anyway, this release by one of
my favorite proc-records artists
is truly a double edged sword of sorts.
It is a brand new album of
never-before-released material,
although, suffice it to say, upon
receiving this album, Qygen
confirmed that this would be the
last album for a long time
(due to respectable and honorable
changes taking place in his own life).

The album itself is a true gem
of hardcore sound perfection.
those wonderful drum sequences,
perfect melodic pitch
and score, deep grimey
basslines and just the right
amount of everything else
are what have made Qygen albums of
the past so memorable and
close to my heart.
My personal favorite pieces on this
ep is the third and final track, which
combine the afformentioned
crucial elements
all in one, making it a
perfect way to bring to an album of this
caliber to a close and punctuating this
artist's career.

Qygen has certainly left a mark and a
name for himself nearly the past 2 years.
Fulfilling the requirements of every proc-rec
artist by remaining true to himself
and to the scene as a whole, Eric's legacy
of sound is without a doubt
some of the biggest shoes to fill.

so I'm sitting here at my computer, enjoying a
nice cold beer, and I start to think to myself
"flat affect sent me an album a few days ago...

I took a swig and got to work!! :D
basically, if you don't know who flat affect is,
he just happens to be the missing piece
to the ambient/noise-scene puzzle.
allow me to explain emphasis.

Shaun Phelps is one of the truest, down to earth
music-making gents this scene has encountered
in a long, long time (with the exception of a few
artists, of course)
a unique style which he conveys with superb execution,
shaun seems to follow a consistant patteren
of natural inconsistency.
never repeating the same method twice allows him to
expand his creative horizons on an un-even playing field.
yep, he's THAT good!
This album is everything a good
noise release should be.
close to a half-hour in length, never too a
braisive or overbearing,
superb sound placement and an
even more impressive
amount of modulation are just a few of the things
which we humble listeners
take for granted.

please don't hate me, but I don't have much else
to say about the artist or this album.
both are great and I'm beyond pleased to
have both around at proc!

I'm a firm beliver in the fact
that good music still sounds good, regardless
of the bitrate (and sometimes even
BETTER, because of a lower bitrate!)
our next artist, who has been around the
netlabel scene for nearly a decade, is no
stranger to bitrates, codecs or file properties.
in fact, his music has been all around
the bitrate-encoding spectrum.
With sounds as low as 8kbps (and lower, im sure!)
all the way up to .wav releases, Sascha
certainly knows his way around an encoder.
But his music goes far beyond just bitrates.
His highly eclectic DJ mixes and live performances
join together all aspects of electronic music, forging
sounds together into a cornocopia
of pure audio perfection.

This lengthy release is a two-track LP
of live DJ mixes and performances from
our Germain-based musical mastermind.
The first mix, which is roughly two hours long,
is a very minimal-house mix filled with nice samples,
great drum sequences, and a suprising
amount of bass preservation even at 8kbps!
The second half is a much harder heavy-techno
mix with an oldschool rave sound.
This is a perfect mix to get people out
on the dancefloor and raving the night
away until the sun rises :)
Both pieces are encoded in mono mp3
and take up very little space.
If you are going on a long train ride or
simply want something to take with you
to a house party, DEFINITELY make sure
this is an album that finds it's way onto
your mp3 device!!!

In an effort to make up for lost time, I've been
recently devoting much of my free time
to making sure that proc gets some of the freshest
music in the world out onto our global platform.
And, with artists like this next guy, a true embodiment
of a proc-rec artist through and through, Joss Manley,
aka JM, Josstintimberlake,etc, is a definite crowd pleaser
with his wonderful production methods and skillful
audio programming.

with over 5 brilliantly produced albums on proc, and
tracks found on nearly every single
one of our compilations,
josstintimberlakes work has always proven to be a
great addition to the artistic qualities
which I find so crucial (and yet so lacking in much
of the media found elsewhere).
His brutal removal of ego from all musical equations
allows him to become much more than
just another sound-boy with talent.
it gives him the ability to work within the realm of
all bitrates, styles, formats, genres, sub-genres, sub-sub-genres...
you get the idea ;)
For a proper example of what I'm talking about,
download an album like [proc135], listen to IT first,
soak up every ounce of it's fullness, then
repeat that with this album.
The realm and diversity of his talents are quite
admirable and certainly noticed, I'm sure.

This album is a journey through
what could be considered "harsh ambience",
verging on the line of noise, although
it is nothing less than pure
idea's put into mp3 form .
Washed-out sounds like distorted
melodies, and light ambient background textures
layed with reverb, and even, at times, a little bit
of phaser (it sounds like to me, anyway)
join together in perfect harmony to bring
this three-tracker into athe deepest recesses of emotion.

the bottom line is,
if you're soemone who is maybe looking
for some great ambient tracks to play around a
campfire with some friends and beer, this
album should be at the top of your list.

I have a few friends who claim they like good music.
they go to big stores and spend money on cd's.
they watch music video's on MTV.
they have their radio's tuned to their favorite channels
which only play the most current playlist of
singers and performers.
So called artist's like 50cent, Taylor Swift, Lil Wayne, etc.
And then they look at me.
I'm off in the corner, speaker volume
turned as loud as it can go, enjoying every single moment
of art being poured into my head.
You see, ladies and gentlemen, for those of
you who might not know this already...real music doesnt
come in a jewel case with crappy cover art of
someone sitting on a car surrounded
by millions of dollars.
Real music isnt found on maintstream media like
globally owned radio and television conglomerates.
REAL MUSIC IS FOUND IN THE UNDERGROUND MUSIC
COMMUNITY, AT ALL BITRATES
And.....real musicians are people like Ukrainian-based jjoth
(under a different alias).
this work vastly different from his other work,
both on and off proc-records.
It seems to follow a much more pattern driven
style while also incorporating his chaotic and
emotion driven sound properties.
Like nearly all of his other work, it also maintains
a strict, low bitrate of something way below
what is considered normal, even on the netlabel scene.
(8kbps is ALWAYS welcomed here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

this is a great little ep and I am a little
upset with myself for not releasing it at an earlier time.
However, after a few months, here it finally is!

techno, acid, jungle, ambient and noise
are just a few of these styles.
However, I like to focus more upon music
which does not fit any particular genre or description.
I take pride in knowing that people who continue to
come back to proc-rec (and it's sister label 4m@-rec)
are bringing their most unique styles and sounds
to release on this globally recognized label.

For me, an artist who has been of particular interest
over the past few years has been a man named
Doodkin.
Under his alias of Neurosampler, he has been showcased
on some fantastic labels.
Some of which include BPM Front, Rus Zud,
Microbit and even the mysterious Dustin Must Die!
(is that label still active, i wonder?...i hope so!!!)
This time, Doodkin brings us new sounds
and musical direction through the use of his other fine
alias, dn76e.
While still a slightly new alias, he has
already composed some wonderful sounds (especially
his album on 20kbps!!!)

This single-track album is a live performance
of dn76e doing what he does best.
Simply making deep, dark, mysterious audio which
bends the mind and changes your
way of thinking about music and the way it can be produced.
Throughout the entire piece, a constant theme of
being in an unfamiliar place is what one can expect.
In my opinion, the thing that gives this album
extra interest is the encoding qualities which he has
chosen.
A constant bitrate of 40kbps, 24Khz stereo mp3
take this track to a whole new level of science through
sound, simply by adding low-fidelity properties.

If you're looking for some great
experimental music that wont utilize
alot of disk space on your mp3 player, download
this little gem and enjoy!!

[proc375] has already come and gone, and
as we say goodbye to such a great compilation, I can
only feel happier as I turn my attention to [proc376], an
album from a long-time net-friend and fellow netlabel
operator, Pollux.

Hailing from the great country of France, Pollux has
been working deep within the underground music community
for many years now and has amassed a
nice collection of albums, both full lengths and EP's,
ranging from ambient to the
darkest hardcore techno around,
and found on such reputable
and respectable labels like
Dustin Must Die, Pavillon36, Microbit Records,
TFN, End Of Music,
Amduscias Records, Intox,
his own label Creative Obsession, and
yes...even proc-records!

This album consists of nearly two-dozen
hand-selected tracks by Pollux which have been
released at the various netlabels
during the two-year period of 2008 and 2009.
He has chosen these particular pieces as his
personal best creations, demonstrating the
peak of his young yet active career as an undergound
artist, and I am in no position whatsoever to
disagree!
He is certainly an artist who I thoroughly enjoy
listening to when I can, and am proud to have worked
with him in the past, presently and hopefully
for many more years to come.

His material is always heavily emotional,
personal and above all, admirable.
Any of his albums from the past are sure to please,
however, might i recommend saving yourself
some time by simply downloading this ;)

keeping the underground happy and healthy is what
I strive to do at proc-records, and having artists like
Pollux in our roster makes my goal much easier to obtain

demonstrating TRUE underground-ness is what
I hope to achieve at proc and have
been incredably pleased thus far, primarily due
to extreme "out there" artists like Army Of 2600.
For a little bit of background, check out his other
releases with proc or other fine labels like Love Torture .

In the meantime, let's talk about this
album because, well, it's just so damned awesome!
From the very first second, this album is true
distortion brutality.
Opening the ep is the track "oshe time"
which is very much glitch-hop, ghetto-chip
and all around cool track, laiden with deep grinding bass,
interesting beat sequences and a pleasent
melodic lead.

immediately after this piece comes
a personal favorite track of mine from the album,
channel 59 mega mix which draws many styles into
its destructive and very appealing percussion-path which
mostly include hardcore jungle and even harder techno
(in 8-bit style of course *wink*)

after this we are lead deeply into the depths of
unknown motherboard territory, annexed off by
those that fear such distinguishable sounds as this.
Once again, the heavy distortion (which plays a lovely
common theme throughout the life of the album) can
be heard spread very thick over basslines and
kicks, snares, high-hats and claps.
a killer track and certainly one of
particular interest to me.
However, the album reaches it's paramount with
the fifth track, "dr mindbender in the lab", which
leaves little room for discussion, due to the highly
descriptive title of the piece.

As with every AO2600 album I've heard, he always trails
off the release with a wonderful closing track, maintaining
our thoughts an interest once again and leaving us
left to patiently await the arrival of his next epic performance.
with this guy, you can always expect the most premium
analog-rich 8-bit chiptune sounds around, and proc
has been proud to release as many musical
ventures of his as possible.
without further ado, it gives me incredable
pleasure to release....

A little over a year ago, I came into contact
with a local Toledo netlabel via my cousin, Corey.
Filled with excitement at the fact that
I wasnt the only one who cared about free, quality
electronic music, I immediately contacted the label
in an effort to strike up an alliance
with the owner.
....Am I glad I did!!!
Not only did it begin a great friendship, it has
also been beneficial to work as often
as I have with some home-base talent, tossing
ideas back and forth and working on splits,
compilations and albums for both labels.

A little bit more history and insight about Rich...
Splatterfunk is the internet sound collective label
of none other than Richard Naugle.
A long time Toledo native, Rich has been making and
releasing his own audio for a few years now with a sound
based heavily within the realms of long-standing
IDM artists like Afx and Venetian snares.
Although, through incorporating an immense variety of
styles into his material, it is clear that Rich's
influences expand much broader areas than JUST IDM.
Jungle, ambient, some noise, 8-bit and even
a bit of jazz and hip-hop peppered in at various
points for good measure (and thats just for starters!)
are what make Rich's music so unique.

The things which I mentioned above can not only be
found on this album, but a few are even
more prominent than ever (imho) on this album
than on any of his previous albums
with proc, and therefore is easily one of
my personal favorite ep's from Rich (with the exception of
flypoo.....that was just an EPIC ep, man)

the album as a whole is pure editing mastery, although
easily, my personal favorite tracks on this album
are sdaffeedk7jt, nugee, Mkeookj Oke, pgklhe,
with the latter being of particular interest.
I felt it was a prime example of Mr. Naugle's expertise.

Need a nice album to play for your

I don't have a whole lot of time available at the moment,
so, like this album, I am going to keep
these linear notes short and sweet :)

Noise is a genre which is very "hit" or "miss",
depending not so much as who is making it, but
rather the intent and the amount of devotion
which is put into the project.
For example, anyone can simply take a
sine wav, pound it to smithereens with distortion, slap
it into mp3 and call it an album.
True noise on the other hand requires things
like modulation, coherency, thought, a little preemptive
planning and above all, a love for the sound!
Pushing Task, aka the fantastic jmnerd is an
artist with such devotion which i have described, and his
attention to detail can be found in any of the sound
files contained on his ep's, Lp's and singles regardless
of the label.
proc just so happens to be fortunate enough once again
to have another prime-sculpted noise album to
provide the underground with.

I love noise with all my heart, and when done
correctly, it is easily one of the truest forms
of electronic-based art around.
To anyone out there who still hates on noise,
I offer this album to you as a testament to
the power of creative passion.

His groundbreaking, genre-expansive
catalog of self-released

for nearly a decade and continue to do so with much gusto.

with this ep, we find Sascha manning the soundboard's
once again through a two-piece selection of
highly direct dancefloor anthems.
the A-side of this album, Sternenfusion, is a brutal
and relentless traditional techno track with
pure, unfiltered rhythm and precision.
Nearly ten minutes in length, it captures
the essence of techno and raves of the early and mid 1990's
when beautiful tracks like this were becoming a mainstay
within the minds of many people.
The second track (or B-side) has a much more
"current" sound and seems to be more focused on
intense sound editing, sample placing and, yes, perfect 4/4
rhythmic stances!

This album is a bit different from his past x2 releases
in the sense that while these two fantastic tracks are
very similar, they are also just as different.
Each is deeply rooted with a club and techno sound design,
however, they seem to focus on
different styles of production in terms of editing.
And, as is typical with all of Sascha's work, these
tracks have a very high level of remix capabilites
and an equally high replay value.
DJ's throughout the world would be silly not to
scoop up this album and try their hands at spinning
these tracks (and others from him!) more than
once in an evening.

okay, so while proc isnt completely back at
full power, I felt that there had been entirely too
much of a pause in between the last release and now,
so I took it upon myself to hunker down and focus
myself back into a proper frame of mind to once
again release the lovely music that the hungry ears
of the world so desperately require!

propelling us into the realm of the proc37x's, our
long-time and highly cherished
friend, Razxca, returned
to the construction of audio and
has given us this glorious,
droning, cold and calculated track
which develops itself around layers of
white noise and a beautifully reverb-ridden
ambient melody.
A common theme in much of Razxca's material
(or at least his material which I'm most familiar with)
is the sense of being physically displaced or
entering a realm of slight mental uncertainty.
However, in every case, the end result is completely
satisfying, worthwhile, and above all, inspirational
to the degree of self-experimentation.

Mikhail (Razxca) has been active in the scene for
many many years and has always provided thought
provoking material (both sound AND images)
for those of us who may be looking for something
a little off the beaten path.
Having even one release from him on any label
takes it to almost the upper echelon of musical
status.

I welcome anyone with an open mind and an ear
for hardcore ambient to download this album

anyone who has been residing in the underground
has probably encountered RedSK's music
(or at the very least, his alias) at least once
on an utterly astonishing amount of netlabels and
physical DIY labels on a plethora of musical formats
such as cassette, digital download, cd, cdr and
probably even a mini disk somewhere along the course
of his very sucessfull musical career.
I for one have been following this
gentleman's work for a few years already, and
over the duration of this time I have been
quite pleased with the audio which he has supplied.
However, there is one very crucial album from Pat's extensive
catalog which has , in many strong ways, completely
strengthened my love for the noise genre...

2008 saw the release of (imo) RedSK's Modus Operandi, the
turning point and climax of his musical output.
I don't want to have you thinking that since then, his music
has gone downhill.
That could not be farther from the truth!!
I am mearly saying that
[TFN086]Belleville Is Overrun With The MRSA Staph Infection
is the precise moment I fell in love with the sound which
IS RedSK.

While off the top of my head I cannot say exactly what
order my top-5 favorite albums of all time are
(except number one being autechre's tri-repetae ++ album)
TFN086 is without a shadow of a doubt included
into the top 5 listing somewhere for me.
It is noise production, EQ'ng and editing at its finest.
Careful attention to detail went into the production of the
pieces and perfect execution of pure-raw elements are
noticable within each fleeting second of the album.

As you can tell, I have a huge amount of admiration for both the
album and the artist as well.
Which is precisely the reason why i took it upon myself to
do a remix of the entire album.
While I'm not sure if I did the original tracks much justice,
I too am pleased with this final product.
The remixing of this album took much
longer than I had originally anticipated.
There were many times when I began to remix it, scrapped
the tracks and started over.
I just couldnt seem to get it quite right....
ladies and gentlemen, noise fans of the world, and everyone
in the underground, please allow me to graciously offer this remix
album to those of you with a keen ear and open minds.

Also, do yourself a favor and download the ORIGINAL release.

Being that I happen to be a busy individual myself, I dont

Toxic Chicken recently contacted me through email
explaing his current life-building adventure
in which he is living in the vicinity of Bangkok.
Broke, living in various homes, and attending (what seems like)
every party crazy party in the world, Tox Chicken's
story of an artist trying to simply "get by" in this crazy world
is something of a fantasy story to those of us stuck
working a 9-5 monday-friday job.

Fortunately, for those of us who are unable to attend
some of these breathtaking places or
fantastic musical events, TC has recorded a brief
portion of one of his gigs, encoded it into that
ever-so-lovely low bitrate quality and gave it to
proc so that we might share it with a broader and more
advanced audience!!
Whats more, this set also included a second piece of music
to enjoy, composed by this modern-day sound Einstein!!
All in all, this is fun little ep, filled to the brim
with great sounds, hillarious photos, kind words

Before I begin these notes, I would like to
take a moment to apologize for not being
nearly as musically active around proc-rec the past
couple of weeks.
I have been allocating my time a little
differently in an effort to get ahead on some
other minor projects that I had started, though
up until now had yet to finish.
I now am happy to announce that I am (to the best
of my knowledge) a little bit ahead of the game
and am able to once again direct
my time and energy towards mkaing proc-records
the musical hot-bed it is known for! (:
and, of course, there is no better way to
once again get the ball rolling in the right
direction than from another
grand ep of epic magnitude from
Mr. Eric johnson, aka Qygen!

As producers go, Eric has been one who has not only
caught, but HELD my attention as well.
Very active within the music scene, even at a
young age when he was using live instrumentation,
Eric's production of wonderful electronic sounds
has been a blessing not only to
my label, but to my ears as well.

Undeniably, the tracks on this album are Qygen's.
I say that simply because part of what makes him a
fantastic artist is his utterly natural and higly
distinguishable sound.
Using various effects almost as instruments themselves,
his usage of reverb and delay ALONE are sometime
to be admired.
(A good example of such can be found at the beginning of
the 2:35 section of the second track.)
This album, in comparison to his other work
is heavily laiden with more junglish and hardcore tracks.

It's honestly a no-brainer to download
whatever you can
from this guy, because regardless of
the album...it-just-works, kid ;)
fortunately, to the best of my knowledge, proc-rec
and 4m@ have been the only two places to host
this incredably genious material!!!

okay....so you might want to sit down before
listening to this one....
make sure you're quite comfortable, have something to drink,
and please, take special care when adjusting your
equalizer....because Joss Manley has done it again!!

Known by a variety of aliases, expanding
the deepest reaches of glitch-tech electronica
and heavily low-bitrate influenced, Joss Manley
has been a frequent producer and releaser on
my humble little label for over two years.

Even though this material is not lobit, it does
have a rather lo-fidelity sound.
Wrapping you up into a warm blanket of old-school
techno and hardcore 8-bit glitch-hop, my man Jmanley
demonstrates true talent once again, without the
use of expensive software or sound recording
equipment.
I mean c'mon...let's face it. What good is
good equipment if you cant even use it?!?!
Compared to his other releases
(with the exception of amiga gam series)
this one is probably my favorite due to the dark textural
nature of even the dancier tracks.
The album certainly ends with a bang
through the seventh track titled "dor'm".
A heavy bassline manufactors a solid and rigid
framework for the piece to develop around,
while glitchy and pulsating percussion segments
are layed heavily upon one another in a very autechre-ish
fashion.

Joss Manley, regardless of the alias, always
delivers the top quality sound files that so many
of us crave.
proc has been fortunate enough to have included
him on various ep's and compilations, going
on completely different spectrums of the bitrate scale.
it is cold outside, yes yes, but wrap yourself into
some good headphones
(or break into an abandoned warehouse
and DJ these tracks for your friends, and their
friends, and their FRIENDS friends) and watch
the evening heat up (;

twenty-ten is already about twenty days old, and
even with the new year being so young, proc-records
seems to have added a new name to our ever-growing
family of talent...none other than Pushing Task or
as he has also become known by fans of
the underground noise scene, jnmerd!
in many ways, jnmerd is the true embodyment of DIY.
A musical minimalist dwelling within the context
of harsh noise and mainstream inbalance, pushing task's
primary objective is to destroy sound through the use of
nothing less than pure art and complete artistic
self-expression (which is probably why it seems to work
so well here at proc! lol)

Scenesters (a term I use to sorta mock the people
who claim to like noise or downplay it's importance)
have approached this man's work on numerous occasions,
only to be left unsatisfied with the results.
Why?, you might ask.
Because just as many artists are not fully understood,
nor their work fully appreciated in their own time, jnmerd's
ability to utterly destroy all pre-conceptions of the noise genre
make him a true hero and king of the style through
his dedication to perfection which is apparent on his releases
past/present/future.

Now, while the other text document included in this .zip package
gives a more detailed explanation to the roots of this release,
I still feel it necessary to explain my pride in having had
the honor of releasing this noise album.
proc is, essentially, a noise netlabel, and having an album like this,
(let alone a debut album from a debut proc artist) is

proc is gearing up for this brand new year we have just
entered, and as we do I of course turn my
focus to the great country of Russia for musical
output inspiration!
Although, to be more precise, I pay attention to
the artist AND alias of none other than Microbit project.

As a label, Microbit project has some highly notable
musical output from artists like Sascha Muller, razxca,
jjoth, MNINS, Toxic Chicken, dn76e, among others!!
As an artist, MP has not only worked with a large portion
of those artists on compilations and split releases, but he
also stays active enough to release solo works at places like proc,
Love Torture, Intox Noize, Creative Obsession, bypass and
even at proc-rec's sublabel, 4m@-records!

Evgenij's sounds are always quite original in terms of
composition and theme.
Quite majestic in nature, his ambient works
are definitely some of the darkest, mind enhancing and
thought provoking around the netlabel scene.
His noise material can be some of the most brutally
sound damaging audio within the underground noise community,
capable of shaking up the industry on more than one occasion.
However, on this ep we are immersed deeply into the
happy hardcore days of early electronica and
acid house rave fusion.

It should come as no suprise to anyone who has had any
exposure to minimal music ( i would suppose in any form)
that to have such a strong release would have come from
a place like russia.
Renowned worldwide for having deep sound roots in minimalism,
Russia is essentially the primary, central hotbed for such works.
But since this album isnt quite minimal, lets focus
more on it's dancefloor properties...because brother...
from beginning to end, this is a dancefloor smash hit!!
Wicked acid basslines thickly cover each track while nice drum
programming and effect usage are found as ways to propel the
tracks in the proper direction.

an album that seems to be (at least o me) one big EP
of three smaller ep's , Free Acid Chill Session 2009-11-23
is an album of material from MP which not only was
encoded at a slightly higher bitrate from him than usual, but
is also probably one of my personal
favorite releases from him, and definitely one of the most
refreshing acid-house/hip hop fusions albums to hit
my ears in a long, long time.

looking back over the past 2/12 years of running proc,
It suprises me just how far the label has come.
nearly a dozen compilation albums have been
accomplished, and filling the spaces in between each
one has been an astonishing amount of
great music from great people in
varied, yet equally great countires.
Sascha Muller is one such artist from one such country
making such music (:
whether you're looking for something mellow
or something with a huge amount of
in-your-face action, Sascha
has been the one to deliver precisely
the proper amount of
sound to keep people happy, regardless
of the situation.

Each year since probably dating back to 1998, Sascha
has been producing music at an impressive rate.
Upon viewing his discogs page, it is clear to see that
most of his years as an artist have seen over a dozen
ep's and full length's , with 2009 as probably being his
most active year thus far!
To those whom are familiar with sascha, a quality product has
become accepted beyond a shadow of a doubt, and
with this great little two track ep from the
electronic music King himself, proc is able to stand proud and
have a positive look on the new year (:

the album starts out with the track "Monopoly Mit CR-78".
A repetitive glitchy minimalistic tune with a catchy
drum seqeunce, this piece geatures mostly
static percussion in conjunction with a solid
"dun dun dun dun dun dun" chord which
acts as it's own melody and beat-locking technique.

The second piece propels the ep to a whole new level
by taking a much different direction of sound in terms of
abandoning the highly mechanic beats
and replacing it with a much subtler and mellower atmosphere.

All in all, this is yet another great little .zip of music.
consider it a late Christmas present...from us to you!

despite the fact of how shitty 2009 was, the global
good-music scene was in full effect here at proc-records
and now, as we bring 2009 to a close, what better
way to do celebrate than by releasing some
splended low bit hardcore electronica from
none other than Toledo's own soundboy, splfk!!!

This is is Splfk's debut solo release with proc-rec
and boy howdy is it a good one!!
To give a little insight to just who this fella is..
Splfk is the musical alias of Rich N., a fellow Toledo resident
(as I am too) who not only produces quality music
on a regular basis, but also manages his own
fantastic net.label Splatterfunk, which has released some
notable people, which (of course) include RedSK, another
admirable sound artist in this underground scene.
Rich's work, which shares a striking resemblance to
early hardcore jungle and IDM, is incredably bassy, intense
and brutal, although welcoming enough to
allow anyone who has a glimmer of interest
in the genre a chance to re-acquaint themselves with
it's beauty and splendor.
(I mean...let's face it, we all know electronic music is the best
and requires the most amount of skill and talent)
lol, ok...I know that came off a little cocky, but it really IS true!
electronic music has come a long way over the years, and there
is a massive scene of talented people, flexing their
musical muscles by demonstrating their abilites for free.
welcome to the underground ;)
although, Probably my main reason for being
so excited about the release
of this album is the simple fact that I can rest a little
easier knowing that there are in fact people in my hometown
who care about this scene enough to do what they love.

Now,as I mentioned before, Rich's sound has somewhat
of an oldschool flavor to it. Similar in style to
the likes of Venetians Snares, Splfk is an alias which
sucessfully fuses styles like gabber, breakcore,
ambient,and hardcore techno, not to mention a little bit
of funk jazz melodic textures (like you'll hear on Intessa) in a way
that baffles the mind with his ease of doing so.
An introduction solo ep of this caliber is paramount to any label,
be it digital or physical. It just so happens that proc
has once again been fortunate enough to be in contact
with such talented and gifted individuals like Richard.

With music this strong and deep, it is difficult to explain in
too much detail about the specifics of each track.
Instead, I would encourage everyone reading this
document right now to STOP IMMEDIATELY
and direct your attention completely to the audio being given.
The high-replay value of this album is enough to make anyone's
new year just a little brighter ;)

even with as chaotic and hecktic
as the holiday season is here in the States, I still
try to keep proc-records as active as possible
without it becoming to burdensome on my already
limited time.
fortunately, operating proc is nothing short of a labor
of love which allows me to be a part of something
exciting on this quickly falling netlabel scene.

now, please pay attention.
the fascinating sounds of jjoth are about to be
heard once more, although this time they are
found cased within the shell of a brand new
sub-alias called "nancylovesgerms".
While I'm unsure as to whether this alias will become his
primary name for beat-based material, it is still
a nice little addition to his already interesting catalog.

Encoded at a cbr of 8kbps, 8khz (an encoding quality from jjoth
which we have experienced on many delightful ocassions this
ep contains only one piece and has a runtime of roughly
eight minutes or so.
Even at this low low bitrate, nancylovesgerms is able
to retain an ample amount of sound.
While I wouldnt classify this track as "techno", the
beat structure and melody timing are what
one could expect from a traditional techno or house track.
However, it also does seem to have a large amount
of experimentalism running through it deeply.
Either way, genre's really aren't a concern for jjoth, and
they never have been!
a strong emphasis on sound and an even
stronger emphasis on originality is what I look forward
to the most from anything new by this subtle audio mastermind.

if you've been a fanboy of jjoth like me,
this refreshing new alias is something like a cool breeze
on a hot summer day.
I like it when people shake up the scene a little bit ;)
keep in mind, jjoth doesnt only release at proc-records.
He recently had a release on the fantastic microbit records
and also a little release on Love Torture records

Nebraska's very own soundboy, and an internationally
recognized sound artist through the releasing
of his material at various audio outposts, mike's
reputable solo projects have become excellent
positive and progressive ways for people to come
together for a little while and enjoy some quality music.

proc has not seen a release from AO2600 in quite some time.
As a matter of fact, the first -and last- time the alias
appeared at proc-rec was on a split release he did
with...himself as xenocats on [proc195].
Combing the best things about his styles and putting
them all onto one album seemed to be a highly appropriate thing
to do, especially during these
reputation-damaging times when so few people
seem to take their work seriously.

Throughout this entire album, one
constant theme is found...true creativity
in the most experimental and original sense of meaning.
Premium vocal samples distorted to oblivion, grinding and
pulsating white-noise deteriorate the foundation
of these pieces while an equally pleasing
array of dark melodic textures join forces with 8-bit sounding
effects and drum sequences to lay a solid foundation
for the progression of the tracks.
Along with all of this, Mike's signature "distant" sound is
noticable and help provide a feeling of detachment from
the outside world.
In a place where so much confusion
and chaos exhists FOR REAL, I find it comforting to know that
one can retreat from such a painful and harsh
reality and retreat into an equally interesting and complex
location.

hahaha, okay, I'm sure statement alone may have
been a little over a few peoples
heads, though I assure you,
such things are nothing to worry about.
At this time, the only thing you
should be thinking about
is how you are going to find reciepts
for all of the crappy cd's you bought
from best buy or target
over the years, now that you
have discovered the place
where real music and
art can be accessed.
With people like this guy around,
it's a wonder people
enjoy the new garbage coming out
on the radio on a daily basis.

I honestly could have just let that phrase
be the entire review, because, as usual,
Qygen delivers nothing short of perfection with
this incredably brilliant and fascinating HARDCORE
album of straight-forward, delicious techno.
The man who brought you the (in my opinion)
album of the year titled "Enchanted"
has been generous enough to hit the scene once
again and simply GIVE away his music for
the global massive to download and enjoy!!

Qygen, who I have unfortunately only come to
know through the interweb for a little over a year or so
is one a true fella and truly embodies the qualities
which proc-records looks for in her artists...character!
Techno, like many other genre's, gets so watered down
by people who only feel the need to keep a steady
4/4 beat with little or no changes whatsoever
throughout the piece.
Qygen on the other hand understands the importance
of proper beat and melody manipulation, along with the
euphoric aural-manipulation capabilites it can have
when executed properly!
Just pick up any one of his handful of albums found
exclusively at proc-records
and you'll see (hear) exactly what I'm talking about.

At any rate, the title of this new LP is quite
fitting and describes this album perfectly.
Eric's sound pallet is also very fulfilling in the sense
that he can easily branch off into other forms
of electronica (even on the same album)
without the slightest hint of slowing down or
limiting the quality of his work.
While much of his music is rooted within the jungle
and trance aspects, he can just as easily
splice and dice any vocal sample or melody with
such greats like prefuse 73 or ventian snares.
looking for maybe a little but of ambient? it's on here.
8bit? some, yep!
well, how about turntablism?....(:

This album is quite a treat for the raver(s) on your xmas list
this year, and best of all, it's free!!!
Each of these pieces, complexingly simple as
they may be, are also highly remixable in nature and
will not disappoint you in the slightest, take my word for it.

you've been searching the internet for a great
little lowbit acid techno ep.
My friend, you have located
such an album right now!

this ep is nothing more than a two track
split between me and the true king of underground
lowbit electronica, Microbit Project.
Evgenij has been involved with
music and the netlabel scene as a whole
for a while now.
He has had album after album on reputable
labels worldwide, some of which include noiseKoncept,
LTR, proc, Super 6, Intox Noize, and Pavillon36.
Not to mention still finding time to operate
one of the strongest lowbit netlabels I've ever
encountered, AND actively promoting other
labels in the lowbit style through his webzine lobit_ru.
Needless to say, he is a very very
busy man, and his presence is certainly
felt in various aspects of the music scene.
I on the other hand have been quite limited
in time to work on my own music these days, so
it was nice to be able to construct a little piece for this
split release.

This is pretty much just a straight-forward acid techno
ep made specifically for people to put on their
dancing shoes and dance the night away!
You are witnessing just a small amount
of what the underground has to offer!!!
