wowowowow!!!
after much wait, the second ep from the very talented
Lik-o has finally arrived!
Lik-o first released on proc-rec a few months
with a smashing little ep that left not only myself,
but many other people wanting more!
We finally have the chance to hear some brand new material...

The title of this album, Groovy EP, certainly describes
this album quite well.
four pieces, 3 original and one bonus track, are found
and they sound terrific.

The ep opens with the funky track "Travelingwithoutmoving!"
which is a very laid-back piece.
various effects, funky basslines, good rhythm and clear sound,
this track is the perfect way to open the album.
after this is the track "I still think about you"
which is just as upbeat as the previous.
It has a slightly more techno/house sound than the opeing
piece, but the choppy bassline effect
adds a distinct amount of IDM flavor and really
takes the piece in a different direction.

track three is titled "Self Hypnosis".
It opens with a very granulated textural effect
and then slowly incorporates a heavy rhythmic
drum sequence, complete with static-clicks, grinding clips
and a very impressive trance-sounding melody.
The final piece on this album is my personal favorite.
It's very calm and subtle, yet has a rough-sounding
quality to it, which makes it nice to sit back and listen
to or perfect to hit the dancefloor and groove to :)

The saying "good things come in good time" certainly holds true.
Since his debut album with us, I have been patiently
awaiting new material from him, and now we finally have it!
If you are looking for a fun little album to listen to with your friends
or just to bump at a party, download this, burn it on a disc and
turn it up!!

it's time to gt grooooooooovy ;)

proc-records has something new to smile about.
Straight out of Nyc is a new artist to our label, who uses
the alias of Klang Association.

WIth a runtime of roughly 29 minutes, this VERY strong
EP has eight-seperate tracks, each with a government-decay
theme.
Using samples from old documentaries (even one from Mr. Oppenheimer)
and even one from Condoleezza Rice, this
nicely produced ep is an excellent introduction from this
astounding project!
A very laid-back and down-tempo album, Klang Association
demonstrates its abilities to produce wonderfully
simple, yet complexingly impressive beats throughout
this entire album.

Something that really impressed me was the way the tracks
on this album had been arranged.
From one track to the next, they flow almost seemlessly and
each one seems to compliment the previous.
Along with that, the tracks themselves have a very clear and
rich sound, and play remarkably well at higher volumes, which
typically is where some level of distortion tends to become
a factor.

Anway, this is an excellent introduction album, and Klang Association
have really done a superb job of putting together some
really strong pieces.
Normally my linear notes for releases are a little lengthier, however,
the audio contained on this ep pretty much speaks for itself :)

without further delay, I am pleased to bring to the underground,
a whole new ablum to bump on your systems for the
remainder of 2008 and all through 2009!

As we bring the [proc23x]'s to a close and introduce
the new series of proc-rec releases, the release from our
good friend Evgenij V. Kharitonov has been locked
into the [proc240] slot.

Eugene is an immensly diverse artist.
With skills ranging from nearly every aspect of electronic music,
he has been a major part of proc-records for
a very long time and his presence has certainly been felt.
Because of his very strong capabilites to change the direction
of his sound, he frequently uses various aliases to
keep the listener from becoming confused.
Thus, this new ep titled Mirror is an excellent
representation of just how unique this gentleman's skills
actually are.

The first piece, under his Microbit Project alias, is a track
which shows Eugene using his rhythm-based skills in sound.
Complex patterns form harshly and intensly while
a matrix of sound effects come crashing into your speakers.
While this track could be considered IDM, I would
classify it as more of a rhythm-noise track.
a very interesting piece, it takes you on a
deep journey into the complexity's of organized sound.
The second piece is an ambient, textural track which, much
like the previous track, is rather dark and secluded.
Droning melodies and other various sounds fill your speakers
with lucious audio, satisfying your ears to the max!

It is really a nice thing to see Eugene remaining as musically
active as he has been, especially during these
past few months.
He can be found releasing on several other netlabels, including
his own spectacular netlabel (also called Microbit Project).
Regardless of your current mood, Eugene has the sound to fit!
And proc-rec is pleased beyond words to have the oppurtunity
to bring you...

Yes, even on the holidays proc-records can be found hard
at work, releasing the finest music in the underground
to the best listeners in the world ;)
Before I begin, I would like to take this oppurtunity to wish
everyone a positive holiday season and a very sucessful
and productive new year!!!

Sons Of Branford are one of the newer projects here at proc-rec.
With a total of two albums already released here on proc-records, plus
some audio on TFN (BIG RESPECT) and elsewhere, I think it's
pretty safe to say that this sound project, which
hails from San Antonio, Texas is relatively active and dedicated
to creating solid audio which many listeners are sure to enjoy :)

Similar to their first release at proc-rec, on this ep we find
one continuous track which is made up of several smaller tracks.
However, unlike the other, this album seems to
take a different approach to sound.
The somewhat ambient textures found in their debut release, have all
but vanished and we are left with loud, crisp
white-noise, static and that lovely granulated distortion
which is almost a necessity for ANY type of
noise-related sound.
Of course, the samples are still prevolent
and really help give the music a stronger "backbone" by
filling in the empty-spots, few as there may be.

Regardless of whether this is your first exposure to
S.O.B. or if you are a longtime fan, one thing is for sure
about this album...
Satisfaction. Guaranteed.

As Christmas approaches, proc-records
has been making an extra effort to supply the underground
with only the finest music available at a very
nice price....FREE!!
:)
An ep from our second debut artist in a row,
FREAK BLONDE is the musical project from the Ukraine, which
is an area of that planet that seems to have
many many talented musicicans (jjoth for example).
However, unlike jjoth, this ep deals very little
with the "noise" aspect of sound.

FREAK BLONDE originally operated under a different alias,
although he later adopted this name to release
his work under.
On this release, we once again find a single track
to be used as an introduction from our newest artist.
With a heavy focus on rhythm based sound coordination, this
piece, which has a runtime of nearly seven minutes, has
a nice variety of sounds, effects, bass, and percussion.
It also has an uptempo beat which makes it
an appropriate track to play at a rave or party!
Plus, giving it an added push, it has an encoding quality of
224 kbps rendered in MP3 format.

FREAK BLONDE has certainly done an excellent job
of allowing people who enjoy good music to get a taste of
some Ukrainian electronica!
With an introduction EP like this, I am very excited
to hear more!!!

Treat yourself to some good music!!
you deserve it ;)

+----------------------------------------------------------+

this evening, proc-rec has something NEW to boast about!!
a debut release from our newest sonic-sound project
from abroad known as Krosot.

Hailing from Malaysia, Krosot recently
sent this fantastic one-track ep over to preview, and the
results were splendid!
In short, this composition is a very dark (almost apocolyptic) track.
VERY Heavy distortion consumes the entire piece, and at
a constant bitrate of 64kbps, you simply cannot go wrong :)

I admit, prior to this ep I knew very little about
this project.
I had heard the name before from seing it as part of the
catalog listing at one of my favorite netlabels, Love Torture Records.
However, it seems as though this gentleman has been actively
producing audio for quite a while, and even
has a few physical releases, including a cassette
on Underground Pollution Rec (based out of France).

I always like to have new artists releasing on proc-records,
especially when they bring an album like this!
Krosot is may be new to proc-rec, but he is, by
no means, a newcomer to the music scene.
I hope that this EP is only the beginning of many, many more
releases from him at proc-records.

Please, join me in congratulating and celebrating our
two-hundred-thirty-seventh release from an artist
who certainly deserves MUCH recognition...

It's been a while since Aramaki last released with us
(his last was around mid september or so)
and in that time we have had a variey of releases
with a plethora of styles, each being very unique
to the particular artist.
I am an artist who likes to fool around sometimes
when making audio.
Sometimes, the crazier the sounds, the better the work.
However, I also have a profound interest in rhythmic work
and appreciate people who sit down in front
of their equipment and really get down to some serious business.

Aramaki is one such artist.
Truly dedicated to continuosly producing quality,
un-compromised audio, Aramaki's work has always
seemed to be very well produced with an exceptionally
professional-sounding mastering.
This release features deeply heartful rhythm based tracks
focused very highly on an IDM type of sound.
Sounding almost like something from an early Warp Records
release, these pieces cover a variety of electronic styles
and have a very high replay value! :)

With the exception of Magude, these tracks
have somewhat uptempo beats united with solid
textural melodies and heavy bass.

All in all, this is a very nice album to have on your portable
media player and to listen to regularly.
Unfortunately, we don't recieve many releases from
Aramaki (I'm hoping that will change though!)
but this album certainly makes up for the time lost!

prepare to have an aural pleasing adventure
into the new underground! ;)

BIG UP!!!

Dearest friends.
Ladies and Gentlemen.
Fellow producers and audio fanatics alike!
As you may already know, Razxca is a highly prolific
musician whos presence has certainly been
felt in a very positive way here at proc-records.

An artist who is very well known for audio-extremes, the past
few releases by him with us have been somewhat lengthy
(for example, a 100 hour noise release!!!).
And now, in an effort to bring new life to his older music, he
has given proc-records the wonderful oppurtunity to re-release
the majority of his audio which was previously found
on his very own, truly wonderful label, which is also
called Razxca :D
This full-length release is one of a few other proc-rec exclusive releases
from this noise-audio mastermind.
The tracks cover a broad range of musical styles, most of which
are deeply rooted in dark ambient and drone styles
and are also very atmospheric and textural pieces as well!

Mikhail, as I have said on countless occasions, is a very
respectable artist and I greatly admire his work,
This newest release from him is one that I hold with
very high regard and am sure is my personal favorite from
him.

If you are looking for the perfect album to set a calming yet dark
atmosphere, look no further than...

jjoth is one of those artists who always seems to deliver
something new, exciting, and original.
Our Ukrainian producing friend has given us here at proc-rec
something new to smile about
with another brilliant free-formish experimental EP.

Sonic textures of deep static and bass explode at vaious
parts of this albums life and fill in the fleeting gaps of silence
which would otherwise be wasted.
Following no specific rhythm or pattern, the compositions
on this album are very spurratic and change rapidly,
even during a single track!
Something else about this release which I found really
sets it apart from his previous releases here is the use
of more solid basslines and a subtle mixture of melody and
chopped vocals.

As I have mentioned before, jjoth's music is sooo incredably diverse, upon
hearing it someone could immediately recognise who
it was simply due to it's distinct sound.
Experimental music composing is something that few people
are able to do with the level of succes that I have heard from jjoth.
Each album is consistantly different from one another
(though an pop-music fan's ear would probably beg to differ)
and he really does a superb job of making sure
his music doesnt all sound alike.

Being an enormous fan of experimental audio, music like this
is very refreshing for me to hear.
It is very emotionally expressive while retaining a
large amount of mystery under a cloak of extreme darkness.
Not only is jjoth an impressive producer, he also happens to be
a very fine visual artist, drawing his own covers which are included
with each of his releases!

Folks, I sincerely hope that you enjoy this album
as much as I do.
Alice ALWAYS devotes 100% to his work, and this release
truly embodies what ART really is.

Thanks again jjoth!!!
proc-rec is happy to have you here :)

Anywhere in life, it is almost guaranteed that
you will, at one time or another, have to prove yourself
to the people around you.
With music, that can be a fairly difficult task since not everyone
like the same styles, genres or tempo's.
For example, it could be very hard to have your friend's 85 year-old
grandmother (who listens to classic opera)
to enjoy a harsh acid-house track from Plastikman.
I'm not saying it's impossible, but I certainly wish you
the best of luck!
(who doesnt like plastikman, though???)

Now, there is one thing about music which has
much certainty....
alot of people use it as a way to unwind or relax after
a long or stressful day.
And, in many cases, people will sometimes turn to
deep, or mellow tracks to help them achieve the desired
state of mind.
Fortunately, there is one such man who can produce
nearly any type of electronic instrumental music, suitable
for almost any mental ailment!

His name is GAAD and he is a proc-rec alumni.
Approaching nearly a dozen seperate appearances here at
proc-records, GAAD's music has left a lasting impression on my
mind and I often look to his music for inspiration with
my own.
This highly prolific musician mastermind from abroad
has been kind enough to allow me to once again
release his sounds to the WORLD, and for that, I am grateful.

This album features four seperate tracks, all of which
were cut to the same length and share a common theme or
texture.
Very dark, ambient, and of course noisy and harsh, GAAD's newest EP
is perfect for chilly nights, looking out a window and wondering
what will happen next in this crazy planet of ours.

What I also thought was pretty cool about this album was that
the tracks sound as if they were originally encoded at a low
bitrate (8kbps it would seem), then rendered back into wav,
AND THEN encoded back into a higher quality mp3.
That may not sound like something new to some
of you, and really, it isn't a new technique, but it does add
a cool lo-fi quality to these tracks which takes them to
a whole nutha' level!!

A great ep by a great artist released on proc-rec
for the greatest listeners on the planet Earth :D

Many people have come to regard proc-records as their
primary source for audio downloading.
We have a group of enormously talented artists who
take pride in their work and share similar goals, ideas
and values.
since day one, proc-records has always been open
to nearly all forms of electronic music, and noise/power electronics
are no exception!!
[proc232], however, is not your normal run-of-the-mill noise ep.
Quite the contrary, in fact.

boxcutterblower (aka Jonathan Brodsky) is
an artist who hailes from the USA.
He has been with proc-records for a little while already, although
thus far he has only been featured on [proc200]
as The Wizard Rises.
On this smashingly hardcore ep, Jon has composed three
great pieces through the use of mixers, pedalls and vocal,
layered on that glorious heavy distortion and even used
(what sounds like) a little reverb as well!

While it is essentially a noise ep, Jon's un-compromising
appoach to sound creation + destruction has really caught my attention.
With even a slight hint towards ambient, this ep is
just long enough for nearly any fan of noise to enjoy
without becoming too overbearing.
It also has a tremendous replay value, which is soemthing
that is nice to have when dealing with a genre such as this.
AAANNND, for those of you who are into that sort of thing,
these tracks also seem to have an unusually high level of remixability,
which is something else that is quite unusual with noise audio.

So, if you are someone who is desperate to find
just the right thing to put on your portable media device
when making the long trek out to see family this holiday season, or
if you are just simply looking for that "certain something"
to help take the edge off after a long day, this
ep is sure to satisfy :)

Thanks again Jon!!!

due to recent issues of seriously limited time, proc-rec
was unable to update our ever-growing catalog of fantastic music.
However, we are back in action and are pleased to
announce the return of a truly splendid sound project called
Sons Of Branford.

On their previous release, SOB demonstrated
true skill in fantastic sound production by executing
wonderful samples, deep, rich and meaningful melodies
all thrown into a blender with lucious textures, and mixed
until a thick batter of sound was created.
It definitely left a positive lasting impression on me, as I'm sure
it did for many, many others as well.
Well, one can expect something quite similar from the
second release.
That trademark 8-bit(ish), analog sound connected with
those (honestly) jaw-droppingly acurately placed samples,
SOB seems to have a unique ability to take different
sound pieces and fit them together with such elogant simplicity.
it reminds me of lego blocks being joined together, where each block
represents a note of audio, a sample, a kick drum or snare
and in the end becomes this gigantic block of sound
that is solid beyond comparison.

I'm sorry if that segment was a little difficult to understand,
but this music really is hard to effectively describe, and words
really do not do much justice to these amazing tracks.
Sons Of Branford is a sound project who I have come to
recognize as being one of the more interesting, experimental
and original acts here.
Plays well on speakers, but greatly deserves headphones and
full attentiveness :D

Ever wanted to go to a live performance of an artist
or project that plays great music, only to find out they
wont be coming to a town near you??
I'm pretty sure we've ALL been there at some point.
In these tough times, it's hard for artists to
travel great distances due to high fuel costs and
time restrictions.
However, with the advent of the internet, shows and live
performances can be recorded, saved, and posted online
for fans far and wide to download and enjoy!!!

Well people, allow me to introduce one such recording!
XENOCATS, a Nebraska-based artist of extremely high importance
here at proc-rec recently performed live in Omaha and
was kind enough to record it for us to enjoy and play
whenever we want (and trust me, I have!!!).
A matrix of insanely accurate and pleasant sounds
are strewn over deep effects and other sound sources
,including that wonderful heavy delay that is
truly the tradmark style of XENOCATS
have all melted together in one giant (rice/soy) milk-saucer.

While it is unfortunate that many of us were not able to
attend, it is nice to know that people are still hitting the town
and fucking up reputable establishments in their own
unique way!
XENOCATS is a perfect example of someone who is
going against the grain of music and making his own
mark on the scene.
Maybe that's why we love him so much?? :D

either way, for those of you who werent there
(and even for those of you who were) this recording
puts you right smack dab in the middle of it all.

The incomparable GAAD haas (thankfully) once again
returned to proc-records by allowing us to release
his newest ep of killer audio!!

This time around we hear GAAD laying down some really
gorgeous rhythmic audio in conjunction with thick
layers of grainy noise textures.
The bpm of the percussion is very slow and, in a way it adds
it's own noise-factor, bringing another interesting quality to
the ep.
GAAD's music has always been influential, intuitive and original,
and I have noticed that his rhythmic audio has been
particularly focused on originality.
Sucessfully fusing deep white-noise as a filler
and peppering kicks, snares and high hats in a slightly haphazzard
fashion, GAAD may have stumbled across
a new genre! :D

The entire release plays for nearly twenty minutes
and works well for nearly any purpose.
